Practical Classics, Classic Car & Restoration Show

A couple of members of the Flying Spares team visited one of 2024’s most anticipated car shows, the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Although not exhibiting this year, it gave us the chance to take in the fantastic displays and spend time with the RREC (Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club) on their stand, where Nigel Sandell and his team were taking apart a Bentley W12 engine that we donated from a recently dismantled Continental GT.

We were lucky enough to see some amazing examples of both Rolls-Royce & Bentley vehicles amongst the stands, and it was great to get up close and personal with a lot of other marques we don’t usually see!  The barn find section is always an interesting part of the show and draws the crowds. We often think some of the cars that arrive at our site for recycling could be entered into this class!

A great time was had, you could feel the enthusiasm and passion for classic cars running through the exhibition halls. Hats off to the organisers of the whole event, and we look forward to next year's event.
