Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II 1960

Chassis: STB268

“According to this car’s original build sheet, it was handed over to Jack Barclay Ltd. On March 4th 1960, prior to joining its lucky new custodian. Some 63 years later, it still wears the same colour scheme of Masons Black over Sand with Beige hide interior. Unusually, it was also specified to be fitted with a tow-bar, from new,  by an authorised installer. This has obviously been removed at some point in its life. As is often the case, the car was to pass through the hands of several owners, the last one residing abroad, using it on visits to the UK. These visits became less frequent and the car was unfortunately left exposed to the elements for a number of years, pending repairs which ultimately didn’t happen. Now awaiting full assessment in our workshops, the feeling is that extensive corrosion has taken hold which, along with the mechanical work required, will make restoration prohibitively expensive. Our recycling team is waiting.”
