Flying Spares is delighted to announce the introduction of our in-house reconditioned automatic gearbox actuator range for 3 & 4-speed Silver Shadow and T series from the late ‘60s all the way up to the late 90’s Rolls-Royce and Bentley models, pre-Seraph and Arnage.

These gearbox actuators operate on an electromechanical system to shift through the gears. Over time, the actuator may fail because of internal wear and tear related to age and high mileage. Another reason for failure is where the actuator will start to stick through lack of use, for example where a car has been in storage or just not being driven regularly enough. Either way, once the actuator fails you will not be able to select a gear and you will have an immobile car. To compound matters further the actuators are no longer available from Bentley.

Flying Spares have developed and tested a reconditioning process for the actuators. Units are fully stripped and cleaned, measured, and inspected to manual specification, the coils and armatures are fully rewound, and brushes are replaced, along with cables and connectors all using OE-quality replacement components. The actuator housing is brought back to its original condition and protected from the elements by deep cleaning and repainting to the original housing colour.

We are confident of our reconditioning process and offer a 3-year warranty on our in-house reconditioned gearbox actuators.
