Flying Spares recently embarked on a thrilling adventure at the PF International Circuit, not just to satisfy our need for speed, but to show our support for an amazing cause. Our mission? To rally behind Alex's Wish, an incredible charity fighting against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a condition that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born.

The day started with a 30-minute qualifying session that was nothing short of intense. With every second ticking away, the tires got hotter and gripped the asphalt with renewed purpose. The results? Colin and Zak, our speed aficionados, pushed the limits, earning fantastic qualifying positions at 3rd and 9th place, respectively.

When the clock struck 10:00, the race was on! Mark, starting strong in 3rd, encountered a minor hiccup off the line, causing us to slip to 5th. A hairpin spin added to the challenge, but at Flying Spares, challenges are simply part of the journey. We revved up our determination and mounted a spectacular comeback. By the end of the initial stint, both Flying Spares teams had secured a comfortable position in the bustling mid-pack.

Amidst the controlled chaos of the track, Bradley – our contender from 9th place – seized the opportunity. With precision and a dash of audacity, he navigated through the chaos of the first lap, swiftly gaining four positions. Bailey took over putting in a consistent performance that demonstrated our team spirit, even as he faced an unexpected spin-out after a hairpin collision. Both Flying Spares teams showed unwavering resolve, securing solid positions in the midfield.

Adding a touch of friendly rivalry, an inter-team battle emerged between Colin and Zak. While this may not have been the ideal route for cutting lap times, it was undoubtedly a captivating spectacle, that had all eyes glued to our performance. After a brief red flag for a nasty crash at the chicane, we crossed the line in 4th and 6th place, just a hair's breadth away from that coveted podium.

But here's the real victory: our collective efforts raised an astounding £1300 for Alex's Wish. It was more than just a race; it was about using our passion for something greater. To learn more about Alex's Wish and join us in supporting their cause, visit the link below.
