Dismantling Archive | Cars For Sale | Cars Sold | Customers & Their Cars

We are constantly sourcing vehicles for dismantling, which has allowed us to build up a vast stock of used parts for every Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor car from 1945 to the present day.

These cars often provide an invaluable way of keeping a vehicle on the road when new parts are unavailable, no longer in production or are prohibitively expensive.  You’ll find details below of vehicles that are currently in our workshops for "parting out".

You can also find all our cars we are currently dismantling and cars we have dismantled on our Official YouTube Channel

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

"Arriving with a bicycle on the back seat, we think the previous owner was pretty much resigned to the fact that he would not be driving home in this car. And he was correct. First registered in May 1987, this early fuel injected Silver Spirit has been through the hands of several owners and is showing severe signs of age. Numerous electrical ‘modifications’ have been carried out and corrosion is evident along with general wear and tear and a number of mechanical issues. It is now destined for our recycling department – and the owner was last seen heading for Leicester on his bike."

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II : FSD-514

Chassis No: SRH39830

More Details & Pictures here

"A really shocking Silver Shadow II, dating from 1980. This car has obviously been standing for many years, alongside the car below which arrived from the same source. The original intention of the former keeper was to restore both cars but as is often the case, it didn’t happen and the resulting delay has unfortunately sealed their fate. Components that can be salvaged for reconditioning will be removed and this one has the benefit of desirable picnic tables fitted to the rear."

"RR – Rolls-Royce or Rodent’s Retreat? Badly stored for many years, this 1978 Silver Shadow II has apparently provided shelter for a number of furry creatures for some time. Seriously corroded all over, and very badly decayed, this car is only suitable for the recycling of what components can be salvaged. Protective clothing will be worn by our team whenever they approach it."

"Another abandoned restoration project, this is an early Silver Shadow, dating from 1969. Largely complete, the car features the original ‘Chippendale’ dashboard and picnic tables to the rear passenger compartment. A car very much on the cusp of recycle or restore, it is in need of a great deal of labour and money to complete, so will inevitably end up with our recycling team."

Bentley Arnage T Flying Spares

Bentley Arnage T : FSD-511

Chassis No: CH09292

More Details & Pictures here

"Another Arnage T, this one dating from 2003. A well looked after car that was unfortunately involved in an accident, resulting in the condition seen here. The damage sustained to both sides, plus the front and rear, made the car uneconomical to repair, resulting in a financial total loss situation. Mechanically sound, it will provide many useful components and as parts for this range of cars become more difficult to source, it will prove a useful asset."

Chassis No: CH10728

"When a car arrives with half of the engine in the boot, rather than under the bonnet, it never bodes well. That is the case with this 2005 Arnage T. Built to Mulliner specification with striking two-tone paintwork and matching interior, the car also has the rare optional smaller rear window, together with picnic tables, and video screens to the front head rests. However, with quite serious engine problems, the start of corrosion in various places, and a mileage in excess of 107,000, repairing the car would not be economically viable. A number of parts are already reserved so it will be heading to our recycling team in the very near future."

"A 1973 Silver Shadow which has been sitting outside a Lancashire house for many years. A change of circumstance halted restoration work some time ago and as is often the case, the car deteriorated to a point where economical progress is no longer viable. Fitted with desirable Shadow II headrests, the car is largely complete, although not everything is where it should be, which, in turn, will aid the recycling process when its turn comes."

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB : FSD-505

Chassis No: LRH16677

More Details & Pictures here

"Purchased as a restoration project by the previous owner, this rare long wheelbase version of the Silver Shadow has recently returned from the Netherlands. UK registered in 1974, it was specified with rare velour interior, rather than the more traditional hide upholstery. An inspection by a north-east based marque specialist revealed just how much work would be involved to make the car roadworthy again and the owner was directed to us. Always unfortunate when rare models such as this have to be recycled but our team will treat it with the respect it deserves."

"From 1975 comes this ‘flared arch’ Silver Shadow, presented in a very seventies shade of gold. Having passed through the hands of several careful owners, and a couple of not so careful ones, it now finds itself with us. Extensive corrosion above and below, together with a number of mechanical issues, means that restoration is not really viable and the best course of action is to carefully dismantle the car, releasing the better components for other more deserving causes."

"We recently unearthed no less than 6 Silver Shadows from their woodland retreat in Ireland. Sporting various levels of moss, grass, and general vegetation, it goes without saying that these cars have suffered severely from their time in these damp conditions. However, we love a challenge here at Flying Spares so they were successfully extracted, loaded onto a suitable transporter, and shipped over to their final resting place. Ranging from late 1960s models to a late 1970s Shadow II, they will provide a wide range of useful components for far more deserving causes."

"It is unusual to find a one owner car such as this which first took to the road in 1988. Remaining with the original purchaser for some 30 years, the car has obviously been used and enjoyed throughout its life, being correctly maintained but not excessively pampered. Showing signs of age, and having covered in excess of 200,000 miles this Spirit has provided sterling service but is now ready to be recycled. It is interesting to note that this car would have cost around £85,000 when new, meaning that the owner enjoyed luxury motoring for around just £3000 per year throughout his ownership."

Bentley S1 Flying Spares

Bentley S1 : FSD-492

Chassis No: B397EK

More Details & Pictures here

"First taking to the highways and byways of England in September of 1957, this Bentley S1 began life in the West Midlands. Wherever it went after that is a little unclear but over recent years, a restoration was begun, but not completed. Originally finished in Shell Grey over Black Pearl, and trimmed in Blue hide, it is now repainted in White with a nicely trimmed two-tone interior, but in vinyl rather that the more traditional leather. At some point, the car has been treated to a rear axle from a commercial vehicle, resulting in a rather obvious non-standard appearance to the rear track. These ‘modifications’ together with substantial corrosion issues mean that a full restoration would prove very costly so recycling is the sensible route to take. Components available include the rare and desirable power assisted steering system, currently fitted to the car."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spur : FSD-491

Chassis No: BCH02823

More Details & Pictures here

"Normally quite rare, we have another Silver Spur, this one being an early example first registered in 1984. A car that has been left standing for many years, and suffered accordingly. An item of note is the rear screen or ‘backlight’ which appears to be a ‘home-made’ modification. Traditionally, the Silver Spur was fitted with a full size rear screen, or a much smaller screen for greater privacy whereas this one has a screen just slightly smaller than normal. Regardless, the car presents with all the usual problems brought about by lack of use so will be recycled in due course."

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow : FSD-487

Chassis No: SRH14629

"Purchased by the previous owner as a ‘donor car’ for a second Silver Shadow, this 1973 model was partly dismantled when it arrived. It still retains a number of useful components, some still attached, and some scattered around the interior and the boot. Serious body corrosion issues are present so the only sensible option is to continue the dismantling process which our recycling team are more than willing to undertake."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-485

Chassis No: SCAZS0005BCH02800

More Details & Pictures here

"An early example of the Silver Spirit, dating from 1981. Described as a fine example of the marque, it turned out not to be and while it appears quite smart in the photographs, underneath is a very different story. A victim of lack of use, the car has spent a number of years in a storage unit and was eventually retrieved from an agricultural setting. Yet another case where the cost of restoration would far outweigh the value of the car so it will be skillfully dismantled to provide quality used parts for similar, more deserving cars."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-482

Chassis No: SCAZS0001GCH14465

More Details & Pictures here

"Initially taking to the road in 1985, this Silver Spirit passed through a number of owners until it was identified as a suitable candidate for modification. As ever, the enthusiasm was great in the beginning but ultimately faded, leaving the car in a part complete state. The intention was to create a matt-finished lowered ‘drift’ car – probably not something Mr Rolls or Mr Royce would have would have approved of, but an interesting concept, none the less. However, the car is now with us, awaiting its turn with our dismantling team."

Bentley Mulsanne S Flying Spares

Bentley Mulsanne S : FSD-474

Chassis No: KCH24887

More Details & Pictures here

"Parking your Bentley in a field and leaving it there for many years is not the best way to look after it, and storing the spare wheel on the front passenger seat is never a good idea. This one was well surrounded by grass and mud and took a bit of extracting. Originally registered in 1989, it is the more popular injected model but, needless to say, time has not been kind and the level of corrosion together with mechanical failings mean that there will be only one outcome."

"Also in the same farmyard for a similar length of time was this Shadow II. Again, the major damage is rust to the bodywork and underneath, together with general decay of wiring and trim. Chrome wheel arch trims can hide some horrors, as in this case, and the photographs show some unusual features beneath the bonnet. Well beyond salvation, this is another car that will be donating components to far more worthy causes."

"Languishing in the corner of a Buckinghamshire garage, this is another restoration project that was never quite completed. In fact, other than removing the everflex roof, it wasn’t really started. Dating from September 1976, this is a late ‘flared arch’ Silver Shadow which was in fairly good shape when it entered the garage but, as ever, time has taken its toll. There is a fair amount of corrosion underneath, many components have been relocated to the luggage compartment, and it is now well beyond an economical restoration. We have managed to run the engine so that will live on in another more deserving example at some point in the future."

Bentley Turbo R Flying Spares

Bentley Turbo R : FSD-453

Chassis No: SCBZR04A8LCH31767

More Details & Pictures here

"Just over a year ago, the owner of this car was warned never to return to the MOT station with it again. Having covered in excess of 211,000 miles, the 1990 Turbo R has been used and enjoyed extensively throughout its life, but it became pretty obvious that it was nearing the end. Large areas of corrosion to the body made economical repairs impossible, but having been well maintained mechanically, it will yield many useful parts when it is recycled."

"Leaving this 1981 Silver Spirit exposed in a midlands field for many years has done it no favours whatsoever. Cars arriving in this state are normally recycled as soon as possible so that any remaining salvageable parts can be rescued and reconditioned before they become terminal."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-449

"Part of a collection of around 12 motor cars, many in similar condition, this 1983 Silver Spirit spent many years sitting on a driveway waiting for its turn in the garage of the owner. Unfortunately, it ended up waiting rather too long and deteriorated way beyond the stage where it could have been rescued. No chance of a reprieve for this one, it will be recycled in the very near future."

Bentley Turbo R Flying Spares

Bentley Turbo R : FSD-448

Chassis No: HCH21782

More Details & Pictures here

"Purchased as a restoration project by a professional Rolls-Royce and Bentley mechanic, work unfortunately stalled due to a change in circumstances. Although partly dismantled, all components came with the car, but a close inspection revealed rather too much corrosion to make continuation of the project viable. It will prove a useful source of used parts."

"Arriving with half of the engine in the boot is never a good start. Add to that the rather randomly placed interior panels, and unusually coloured seats and the fate of this car is almost immediately sealed. There are far more deserving projects so parts from this car will go to help those."

Bentley Mulsanne Turbo Flying Spares

Bentley Mulsanne Turbo : FSD-438

Chassis No: SCBZS0T0XCCH06575

More Details & Pictures here

"Serving time as a garden ornament, somewhere north of Scotch Corner, has done this early Mulsanne Turbo no favours whatsoever. Blending nicely into its surroundings, as moss took hold, it deteriorated well beyond the point of no return and has now made one final journey to meet our recycling team."

Bentley R-Type Flying Spares

Bentley R-Type : FSD-425

Chassis No: B67YA

More Details & Pictures here

"Dating from 1954, this R-Type came to us from Italy where it has been residing for some years. Restoration work was started at some point, but there is still a long way to go. It is now at a point where the value of the good running engine, strong chassis, and other desirable mechanical components may outweigh the cost of continuing with the project. Not a decision that we take lightly, but the car is now inevitably destined for our recycling team."

"Another abandoned restoration project, this early example first took to the road in 1981. As is often the case, the sheer amount of work and investment required to resurrect cars in this condition does not always make sense. The owner of this one decided to walk away from it, leaving recycling as the only sensible option."

"Accident damage to the rear end of this 1989 Silver Spirit unfortunately sealed its fate. The cost of repairs to an already ageing example were sufficient to write it off, but being in relatively regular use prior to the accident means that many parts will be salvaged by our recycling department."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-407

Chassis No: ECH09687

"A 1984 Silver Spirit, requiring too much work to keep on the road. Arriving with us after MOT failure, an inspection revealed a high level of corrosion plus numerous leaks and general mechanical problems, making recycling the only sensible route to take."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-389

Chassis No: CH03406

More Details & Pictures here

"This one may have the appearance of a Bentley Turbo R, but it started life, in 1981, as a Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. An image conscious former keeper, obviously preferred to modify his Rolls, rather than invest in the genuine article, resulting in a Turbo R lacking the performance of the real thing. All show, and not quite enough go, some may say. Now well and truly on its final journey to our recycling department – let’s hope they can spot the difference."

Bentley S3 Flying Spares

Bentley S3 : FSD-388

Chassis No: TBC

More Details & Pictures here

"Ambitiously described as an ‘abandoned restoration project’, this former Bentley S3 is a little lacking in components. However, several large boxes of parts came with it. These had been removed over the course of many years, the plan being to carefully rebuild the car to its former glory. As is often the case, the task became ever more demanding until the owner finally admitted defeat. Undaunted, we were there to rescue the remnants which will be put to good use to satisfy demand for parts from this era."

Chassis No: 5VA111

"Hand built by Park Ward, with body design 2003, this car was supplied to Exeter City Council in 1963 to serve as the official Mayoral limousine. In 1985 it was exported to America where it remained until 2010, when it was repatriated to the UK. More recently, selected components have been utilised to facilitate the restoration of an historically important motor car of similar type. This has resulted in the remains of the car arriving with us. Recycled parts for these exclusive cars rarely become available."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-369

Chassis No: CH01765

More Details & Pictures here

"The previous owner of this early Spirit was always going to restore the car, but somehow never seemed to manage it. As is often the case, the longer you leave a car unattended, the more it deteriorates, until, inevitably, it becomes impractical and uneconomical to revive it. Hence, this one will be heading to the recycling team."

Bentley Eight Flying Spares

Bentley Eight : FSD-363

Chassis No: JCH22252

More Details & Pictures here

"A 1988 Bentley Eight saloon, successfully extracted from the woods where it has been living for the past decade, or longer. Yet another example of a car that has been forgotten about and deteriorated way beyond economical repair. An early injected, naturally aspirated model, the only way forward is to salvage re-useable components for more deserving causes."

Bentley Turbo R Flying Spares

Bentley Turbo R : FSD-359

Chassis No: KCH26089

More Details & Pictures here

"First registered in 1989, this Turbo R was with the previous owner for over 12 years, and used and enjoyed throughout his ownership. Having covered over 150,000 miles, the car is now best described as ‘a little tired’ and is at a stage where more expenditure is required and that just does not make financial sense. Better to use the serviceable components to keep other, more respectable models on the road."

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II : FSD-358

Chassis No: TBC

More Details & Pictures here

"This Silver Shadow II dates from February 1979 and has had in excess of 10 previous owners. Although initially presenting quite well, further investigation reveals a number of faults and the usual corrosion issues. Once again, the amount of work required renders restoration uneconomically viable, so the car will be recycled."

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow : FSD-356

Chassis No: SRH21959

More Details & Pictures here

"First registered in 1975, this Silver Shadow had been with its previous owner since 2002. Used regularly, and correctly maintained it was a very good example, but, a change of circumstance resulted in it being unattended for a couple of years. A move abroad forced the sale of the car and on inspection, corrosion was evident and a number of mechanical issues, caused by lack of use, had occurred. Now in the queue for recycling."

"This Silver Spirit first took to the road in 1982 but after several years of fine service, it was eventually abandoned in a haulage yard. Initially well looked after, it has now unfortunately deteriorated beyond economical repair and will be recycled to donate parts to more roadworthy examples."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-343

Chassis No: TBC

More Details & Pictures here

"A 1983 Silver Spirit which was purchased as a restoration project by the previous owner. However, as is often the case, the amount of work required, together with the substantial financial outlay, eventually dissuaded him from continuing. A long delay while considering the way forward has lead to further deterioration, rendering the car completely beyond repair, so it will be recycled in the near future."

"First registered in 1988, restoration had begun on this early injected Turbo R, but following a change of circumstance, the work was not completed. Another case where it would prove uneconomical to continue, the car will be recycled to provide parts and core units for reconditioning."

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Flying Spares

Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit : FSD-299

Chassis No: SCAZSOOO7DCH07659

More Details & Pictures here

"This 1983 Silver Spirit has been in regular use until quite recently. However, extensive expenditure was required last year, and as MOT time approaches again, another large bill was predicted, so the owner decided it was time to move it on. At first glance, it does look quite presentable but on closer inspection, it has obviously had water leaking into it for some time which has resulted in a most unpleasant interior. Taking into account a number of mechanical issues, the car is now well beyond economical repair and will be heading to our recycling department."

Bentley Eight Flying Spares

Bentley Eight : FSD-285

Chassis No: SCBZEOOA5LCH32750

More Details & Pictures here

"This Bentley Eight was first registered in 1990. Another car that has not been used recently, it does have the benefit of an MOT certificate, valid until July 2016. Corrosion is starting in the usual places, it has 161,000 miles recorded, but it may be possible for a dedicated enthusiast to return it to the road."
