From 1974 an electronic Lucas Opus ignition system was fitted in conjunction with a Lucas 1.5 ohm coil and a ballast resistor.

New ignition modules are no longer available but we supply a reconditioned exchange unit CD5904SXR if you prefer originality in your car.
However, we recommend the modern Pertronix Ignitor kit (ELEC5) in conjunction with a Flamethrower coil (COIL1 or COIL2) as a great improvement on the original system which has become increasingly unreliable with time.
Vacuum unit CD6135 is the standard type fitted, except for cars built for North America and Japan which were fitted with vacuum unit CD6079 and coil UE40913. Australian cars were fitted with vacuum CD5963 and coil UE40913.
