These cars often provide an invaluable way of keeping a vehicle on the road when new parts are unavailable, no longer in production or are prohibitively expensive. You’ll find details below of vehicles that are currently in our workshops for "parting out".

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow : FSD-378

"Claimed to require just a fuel pump to get it running, this late flared arch Shadow is in need of rather more than that, to save it. Rust has taken hold, together with moss, and a severe case of mould to the interior. Relatively complete, but a brief test has consigned it to the dismantling team for careful recycling."

"Masquerading as a rare Bentley T1, this frightening sight is actually a 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow with a Bentley radiator grille shell, nailed on to it. Very probably the best part of the car. The fact it arrived with no rear wheels is probably the least of its problems. Featuring a host of corroded panels and a truly shocking interior, our recyclers now face the challenge of identifying and removing the reusable components, before the dustmen arrive."

"Yet another abandoned early Silver Spirit. Dating from 1980, this is one of the first of the range but, as is often the case, it has lain unused for many years. Well beyond economical repair, it will donate salvageable parts to more deserving causes."

"Once resplendent in the attractive shade of ‘Ice Green’, this mid-eighties Spirit is now attracting a different shade of green, called moss, which is happily growing all over it. Exceptionally corroded, it is many years since this example was last on the road, and it has suffered accordingly. Not even worth considering as anything but a candidate for recycling."
Rolls-Royce Silver Spur : FSD-370

"In very similar circumstances to the previous Spirit, this 1984 Silver Spur has also languished awaiting attention for several years. Decay has set in generally, and the mechanical condition has also suffered. Regardless of its rarer LWB specification, it would still require a very substantial investment to return to the road and will therefore be used to provide recycled components for other similar models."

"The previous owner of this early Spirit was always going to restore the car, but somehow never seemed to manage it. As is often the case, the longer you leave a car unattended, the more it deteriorates, until, inevitably, it becomes impractical and uneconomical to revive it. Hence, this one will be heading to the recycling team."

"A conversation at the RREC annual rally resulted in our acquisition of this Bentley T2. Initially seen as a potential restoration project, the reality was a little different and again, the amount of work and finance required cannot be justified, so it will be recycled."

"An unfortunate garage incident resulted in this well cared for Silver Spirit being written off. A small fire outside of the car caused significant damage, as did the contents of the extinguisher, used to quell the flames. Previously cherished, the car will provide some excellent quality components to keep similar vehicles running nicely."

"A 1988 Bentley Eight saloon, successfully extracted from the woods where it has been living for the past decade, or longer. Yet another example of a car that has been forgotten about and deteriorated way beyond economical repair. An early injected, naturally aspirated model, the only way forward is to salvage re-useable components for more deserving causes."
Bentley Turbo R : FSD-361

"This 1990 Turbo R was in regular use until recently, but the owner had the chance to update to a later model. Weighing up the economics, he decided to take the plunge with the other car, but discovered a number of issues with this one, when he came to move it on. Luckily, we were able to relieve him of it, and it will now be recycled in the usual manner."
Bentley Turbo R : FSD-359

"First registered in 1989, this Turbo R was with the previous owner for over 12 years, and used and enjoyed throughout his ownership. Having covered over 150,000 miles, the car is now best described as ‘a little tired’ and is at a stage where more expenditure is required and that just does not make financial sense. Better to use the serviceable components to keep other, more respectable models on the road."

"This Silver Shadow II dates from February 1979 and has had in excess of 10 previous owners. Although initially presenting quite well, further investigation reveals a number of faults and the usual corrosion issues. Once again, the amount of work required renders restoration uneconomically viable, so the car will be recycled."

"Another early Spirit that came to us having already been partly dismembered. This one has served as a parts car for a southern based specialist and we have now acquired the remains to recycle what we can. Despite the appearance, we will still be able to salvage various useful components."

"This Silver Spirit first took to the road in 1982 but after several years of fine service, it was eventually abandoned in a haulage yard. Initially well looked after, it has now unfortunately deteriorated beyond economical repair and will be recycled to donate parts to more roadworthy examples."

"A 1972 Silver Shadow that was last taxed in 2006. Since then, it has taken up residence in an agricultural barn and has deteriorated in the same way as many of its contemporaries. The barn has sheltered the car from the worst of the weather, and the engine is particularly well presented. Previous poor repairs to the bodywork have not helped and the car has been declared as well beyond economical repair."

"A 1983 Silver Spirit which was purchased as a restoration project by the previous owner. However, as is often the case, the amount of work required, together with the substantial financial outlay, eventually dissuaded him from continuing. A long delay while considering the way forward has lead to further deterioration, rendering the car completely beyond repair, so it will be recycled in the near future."

"This early example of the fuel injected Turbo R was first registered in 1987. Initially offered to us back in the summer of 2016, we eventually acquired it in December. Another case of a car left standing, unused, for a long period. Ravaged by the elements, the body is now in very poor condition and extensive mechanical work is also required, making the car way beyond economical repair. Now awaiting recycling."

"This 1979 Silver Shadow II has spent a few years in the Republic of Ireland, initially in regular use but then somewhat neglected, leading to its current state. Generally tired, and in need of mechanical overhaul, the car would be uneconomical to restore, so will be recycled by our experienced team."

"First registered in 1988, restoration had begun on this early injected Turbo R, but following a change of circumstance, the work was not completed. Another case where it would prove uneconomical to continue, the car will be recycled to provide parts and core units for reconditioning."

"This 1983 Silver Spirit has been in regular use until quite recently. However, extensive expenditure was required last year, and as MOT time approaches again, another large bill was predicted, so the owner decided it was time to move it on. At first glance, it does look quite presentable but on closer inspection, it has obviously had water leaking into it for some time which has resulted in a most unpleasant interior. Taking into account a number of mechanical issues, the car is now well beyond economical repair and will be heading to our recycling department."

"This Bentley Eight was first registered in 1990. Another car that has not been used recently, it does have the benefit of an MOT certificate, valid until July 2016. Corrosion is starting in the usual places, it has 161,000 miles recorded, but it may be possible for a dedicated enthusiast to return it to the road."

"In semi-regular use until last year, this 1990 Spirit II was originally thought to be a potential restoration project. Pictured in the condition it arrived, an inspection soon revealed a long list of issues requiring attention. Taking into account the extensive corrosion as well, recycling is the only sensible direction to take."
