Question: I recently purchased a 1993 Turbo R with 37k miles, and have encountered a couple of problems:
1.The passenger-side power window goes down fine, but will not go up. The motor sounds the same (strong) during both up and down cycles, but I have to pull the window up to close.. All other power windows work fine. What might you suggest? Lubricate the window arm?
2.The car came with three keys, but no fob (I’m unsure if the car even originally came with a fob). Neither the power lock switches nor pushing down on the actual locks activate the central locking, but the alarm does sound when I push down on the switches. The locks also don’t activate when I try to lock from outside with the key, including the doors and boot. I’ve tried this using several combinations of the alarm switch within the glove box with no success. Any suggestions?

Answer: Try using the electronic window lift whilst the engine is running as this should make it quicker. You could alos try lubricating the felt channel with WD40 which may solve your problem with the window lift.
The car would have had keys and alarm fobs coded to the car/ECU. If they are missing then you would probably need a new alarm ECU (under the centre of the dash) and will need to be coded to the car with new fobs.

Question: Thank you for the response.
1. How do I access the felt for lubrication?
2. How may I operate the power locks without the fob?

Answer: I have been informed that if you operate the door locks by using the private lock with the key it should operate them all.
With regards to the lubrication of the felt channel, pleasewindthe window down and spray the felt runner that it slides up and down in and this should sort it.

Question: Thank you for the response. I was unable to get the power locking to work with either of the three keys. For the passenger side window, I sprayed WD40 onto the full length of the felt guides, but no success. I fear I'll need to take off the door card to investigate further.

Answer: Regarding the problem you are having with the electric window lift, it may be that the chain has seizing. Unfortunatly, you will need to remove the door card to investigate further and check that the coupling is still intact.
The power lock situation may be the alarm ECU control box in the boot of the car.
