Question: Up until a year ago my Shadow II started perfectly but now I have to press the accelerator pedal to get more revs instead of only needing to floor it.
There is no real problem with the start up initially so long as I keep the revs up but the engine runs roughly like there's too rich a mixture and stalls if I release the pedal.
I feel that the revs needed to start the cold engine are not doing the engine any good when such high revs are needed.
After a minute or so the engine suddenly runs sweetly as it used to as if a temperature switch has been activated.
I have checked the butterfly valve clearance and the cold start cam clearance settings and the switch on the air intake trunking and they are all correct.

Answer: Good Afternoon,we would suggest checking the stove pipes to make sure they are not damaged or sucking in air. It could also be the choke solenoid not operating properly.

Question: Hi Guys, I would like to let you know that I have cured the starting problem on my Shadow II. The anti run on solenoid was faulty.
