Question: A few questions about 1962 Bentley S2 suspension dampers... What is the correct oil? If leakage is too bad, is it possible for an amateur mechanic to replace the seals? Are any special tools required? Advice appreciated...

Answer: Good Morning, the below response is from John in our technical department, I hope this helps answer your question.

The oil for the dampers is Castrol TQ, the seals are quite easy to replace, but the damper has to come off the car after compressing the springs - specialist tooling required. However if the shafts are heavily worn, the new seals will not work and this is why we use modern type seals in ours after cleaning or machining the shafts.
