Reconditioning at Flying Spares

At Flying Spares we are privileged to have a team of five technicians in our Technical Services Department including an ex-JLR engine builder, an Auto Electrician, experienced Vehicle technician, parts technician and a fully qualified apprentice.

In order to ensure all our parts are reconditioned to the highest standard, we have heavily invested in equipment including an Aquablaster, oil baths, shot blasters, RR363 and mineral hydraulic unit and engine test rigs. We have plans to further increase our investment with the introduction of a milling machine to aid in-house fabrication, PAS pump/rack and alternator/starter motor test benches, and a growler, an electrical test machine to aid in the testing of armature windings.

Our inhouse Technical Services Department recondition a wide variety of parts broadly covering the following:

Hydraulics – Hydraulic (brake & suspension) components from the Silver Shadow/ Bentley T (SY) along with Silver Spirit (SZ) and derivative model ranges. The majority of these are tested on our inhouse rigs prior to despatch.

Axles – We are very fortunate to have taken over Norman Geeson’s Crewe Classic Six rear axle rebuilding business, offering a complete differential and half shaft reconditioning service. Click here to learn more.

Engines – All engines are fitted with new pistons, liners, bearings, and our unique head gaskets. Along with new seals, gaskets, and a reconditioned camshaft before being tested on our rig

The team also recondition rear hubs, carburettors, leaf springs and wheel & master cylinders. For all other reconditioned parts, we work closely with a select number of companies, all of whom are specialists in their field.

Professionally rebuilt to exacting standards in the UK, all our reconditioned parts are covered by a minimum 1-year guarantee. We are always looking to add new lines to our product range. Recently, we added a further 60 used electrical lines to our range, all tested or repaired in-house ready to be sold with confidence.

Over the coming months we hope to bring you exciting news about how this department is expanding, watch this space!

Below is a selection of parts we currently recondition in-house:

All reconditioned parts are sold on an exchange basis with a core unit surcharge. When we receive a serviceable unit back, we will refund you the surcharge and recondition your old unit keeping it in circulation.
