Just Arrived
Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith - FSD 787
Chassis: LRH38757
Some cars arrive with promise. Others arrive with presence. This one mostly arrived with moss.
What we have here is a 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II in light blue — or at least, it was. These days, the original colour is barely visible beneath a thick, uneven coat of green that’s slowly taken hold of every surface. The navy blue Everflex roof is largely intact, save for a single quiff at the front.
Inside, the navy leather seats are still in place, offering a brief flash of civility amid what is otherwise a full-scale interior collapse. Most of the dash is halfway out of the car, wiring trails through the footwells, and assorted trim panels have either come loose or vanished entirely. It looks less like a cabin and more like the aftermath of a small storm.
The outside tells the same story. The bodywork is heavily rusted, with several holes now letting in more light than they should. Bits of chrome trim are hanging on by a thread, the doors are sealed shut — not by design, but by the slow, creeping grip of moss and time. Panels are misaligned, and we daren’t walk past too quickly in case anything else falls off.
This one certainly won’t be going up for sale. It’s come here for one reason, and one reason only — to be dismantled and recycled. The parts that can be saved will go on to help other Shadows and Wraiths keep going, which feels like a fitting end.
Some cars go out in a blaze of glory. Others just quietly fall to bits. Either way, the end is the same — and this one’s already halfway there.
For now, it'll wait in our yard until it’s time to be dragged into its final destination — Martin’s dismantling ramp.
