Just Arrived
Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith - FSD 782
Chassis: DLW71
This week, we welcomed a rather special arrival at Flying Spares — a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, one of just 18 built in this particular specification.
Its two-tone navy and silver paintwork is now peeling away in many places, and trying to in others, revealing the years it has spent off the road. Inside, only small sections of the original brown leather remain, enough to suggest how refined the cabin once was.
There’s a division screen between the driver and rear passengers, a clear sign that this car was once built for more formal duties — perhaps chauffeuring someone of note. That sense of quiet dignity still clings to it, even in its current state.
Under the bonnet sits the original six-cylinder engine. We haven’t attempted to start it yet, but it appears largely complete — another promising sign for anyone considering its future.
Whether it becomes the basis for a rare restoration project or a source of hard-to-find parts, it’s an intriguing addition to our yard — and a reminder that even well-worn classics can still turn heads.
