Just Arrived

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow - FSD 785

Chassis:  SRH26580

This week’s arrival: a 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in Acrylic White. Just 26,000 miles on the clock, a good structural shell, and a braking system that operates on the “once you're moving, you’re committed” principle.

We picked this one up from a classic enthusiast who bought it as a non-runner. It had been sat in a garage for five years before that, quietly fermenting. He got it running again and even managed a few short test drives — just enough to discover that while the engine pulls fine, the brakes prefer not to let go. Bleed a caliper, wait overnight, or just accept your fate — those were the options.

Structurally, it's surprisingly decent. A few blisters on the front wings, but overall, better than most. Electrically, most things still work — windows, fans, even the rear window that needed some light encouragement. The cruise control remains untested, but you’d need to get out of second gear for that to matter.

It’ll be appearing in an upcoming video project of ours, after which its future will be decided. Depending on how it shapes up under inspection, it may live on as a rolling restoration — or donate its parts to help others stay on the road.
