Based at our facilities in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, our in-house Technical Services Department (TSD) boasts a state-of-the-art workshop and some of the UK’s most highly skilled vehicle technicians.

There’s no secret to delivering this elite level of service, it is just a classic combination of the right Team. OEM-trained specialists with centuries of combined repair experience and the right equipment, from traditional craftsman’s tools to the latest high-tech diagnostic kit.

For example, when renowned engineer Norman Geeson came to sell his Crewe Classic Six axle rebuilding business, he trained up our technicians and passed the business onto us because he trusted us and recognised that we shared his ethos for perfection.

With a real passion for the marques and detailed model-specific product knowledge, our TSD experts are committed to saving and restoring as many original parts as possible.

They know where you can use later components and where you can’t, the crucial differences between same-year left-and right-hand drive cars, and precisely the right parts for long and short wheel-base sub-variants.

We are incredibly proud of the TSD’s high standards and are constantly innovating and improving its capabilities.

Every alternator we recondition now goes through our new AD500 test machine and is shipped with a Flying Spares-branded performance report.

Depending on the part, the cleaning stage might involve a standard chemical wash, aqua blasting with high-pressure water and media, or even sonic cleaning, whereby a chemical and water mix at a precise PH and temperature are subjected to sound wave pulses to shake off any impurities.

For example, a used brake pump will go through a 7-stage process to take it up to TSD Reconditioned quality. It will be stripped, cleaned, inspected, cleaned some more, rebuilt (with new components as required), tested, and finally, carefully packed for dispatch.
