Royal Mail deliveries to the USA

 

Royal Mail has temporarily halted parcel deliveries to the United States following the Trump administration’s decision to scrap a customs rule that previously allowed low-value packages to enter duty-free.

All shipments worth $800 (£600) or less will now be subject to import duties, ending the “de minimis” exemption. This change means low-value commercial goods will face the same tariff rates as higher-value items, based on their country of origin. UK-made products will carry a 10% tariff.

To adjust to the new rules, Royal Mail—along with several other European postal services—has suspended US-bound parcel shipments from Tuesday, 26th August 2025, ensuring that existing deliveries arrive before the new duties take effect.
