New US Import Rules – Effective 26 August 2025

Starting August 26, 2025, significant changes to U.S. import regulations will affect shipments from the UK. Here’s what you need to know:

Removal of the “De Minimis” Exemption:

  • Previously, shipments under $800 could enter the U.S. without paying duties, thanks to the “de minimis” exemption. This has now been removed.
As a result, all shipments will now require customs clearance and be subject to import duties.

  • UK Products Subject to a 10% Tariff:
Any UK-made goods entering the U.S. will incur a 10% import tariff upon arrival.

What This Means for Shipping

In light of these changes:

  • Royal Mail Services to the U.S.:
Royal Mail and several other European postal services have paused all U.S. deliveries due to potential customs delays. This suspension is in effect from 26 August 2025.

To avoid disruption, we have temporarily removed Royal Mail as a shipping option from our website.

  • Alternative Shipping via Courier:
While Royal Mail is temporarily unavailable, Courier services continue to provide reliable delivery to the U.S., and we are now using this service exclusively for U.S. orders.

What You Can Expect

  • Customs and Duties:
Starting 26 August 2025, all goods will be subject to customs duties and clearance procedures. For UK-made products, a 10% import tariff will apply.

  • Royal Mail: Currently not available for U.S. deliveries.

  • Courier Service: Our default shipping service for all U.S. orders.

Important Notes:

  • With the influx of shipments requiring customs clearance, you may experience delays, particularly with items valued between $1 and $800.
