Bentley Turbo R - FSD 817

Chassis:  CH55549

Don’t worry — the mafia aren’t holding us to ransom.

It only looks like they might be.

This is our latest arrival: a 1995 Bentley Turbo R finished in Royal Ebony, and it’s gone all-in on the blackout treatment. Black paint, black wheels, tinted windows, and a clear-lens lighting kit that strips away the last traces of colour. The result is properly monochrome — the sort of car that looks like it should arrive quietly outside a restaurant where nobody asks too many questions.

From a distance, it has real presence. A Turbo R already carries itself with a certain authority, and in all-black it somehow manages to look even more serious.

Mechanically, things are a little quieter.

This one came to us after it stopped running, and the cause was never investigated. Instead, it was parked up and left to sit for an unknown stretch of time — long enough for various components to become very comfortable with not moving at all.

It didn’t start when it arrived.

But it did roll off the trailer without drama, needing only a little encouragement and — importantly — no forklifts. Around here, that’s already a small victory.

Inside, the mood changes slightly. The cabin is trimmed in light cream leather that’s seen better days but still tells a good story. The seats feature red piping, with red Bentley crests stitched neatly into the headrests, and red seat belts to match. Even the valve caps are little red dice.

The combination works well: black outside, cream within, and flashes of red tying everything together. Bold, slightly theatrical, and very much of its era.
For now it sits quietly in the yard awaiting its turn in the workshop — slightly mysterious and looking every bit like it’s waiting for someone to ask the wrong question.

We’ll let you know what happens next.
