Our Brave Shaver
Sal's Story by Sarah: I first thought about shaving my hair off for charity ten years ago, when a work colleague lost her hair whilst undergoing cancer treatment. Six years ago, my college friend Sal was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her local Macmillan team were there to support her before, during and after treatment, and were fantastic. A year ago, Sal received the devastating news that the cancer had returned. Once again, the Macmillan team were there to offer support throughout this difficult time, and when, sadly, she lost the battle in February this year, Macmillan rallied around Sal's husband and children to help them through this difficult time. They are still there for them now. I chose 20th February as this was the day Sal passed away, and the shave was still the campaign I wanted to do, as one of Sal's most eye-catching attributes was her beautiful naturally curly locks. Thank you Macmillan, for all you have done, and all you continue to do x.
