Website Updates

Since re-launching our website last summer we have continually been looking for areas to improve and listening to your feedback. Recently we implemented some changes we hope have improved accessibility and ease of use.

Our revamped site is intended to be as user-friendly as possible. Here is a list of the changes we have made:

Homepage:

  • Online Catalogues have been centred and enlarged, making them much more obvious
  • A Quick Search function has been added

Catalogues:

  • Our Online Catalogues have been divided into much easier to navigate, linear sections
  • Our parts diagrams (courtesy of Bentley Motors Limited) now drop down from a thumbnail at the top right of the page to make a bigger, clearer image
  • The Quick Search option is now a magnifying glass in the top left corner of the page, opening up when scrolled over

General:

  • We have a drop-down menu at the top of every page, so you can jump from any page to any other page more easily
  • We have attempted to make the site more aesthetically pleasing in general

If you are confused by any changes we have made, think you have found a fault or have any further suggestions please contact us at sales@flyingspares.co.uk.

Bentley Unveil Their SUV Concept

Bentley have unveiled their new SUV concept, the Cross Continental (a slightly odd choice of name as the front bears much more of a resemblance to the current Mulsanne). The styling is likely to divide opinion and we certainly know which side of the fence we stand on…let’s just say that basing a car on a Porsche Cayenne was never going to be a great start…

Click here for a picture and see for yourself. Prices are rumoured to be around the £120,000 mark.

Rolls-Royce Unveil Fully Electric Concept Car

Rolls-Royce have unveiled their first ever fully electric vehicle - a version of their Phantom model, labelled '102EX'. It boasts the largest car battery in the world, weighing a whopping 640kg and is capable of 125 miles between charges, with a top speed of 100mph. Charging the car takes between 8 and 20 hours and is completely wireless.

Some of the features of this new car include: a Spirit of Ecstasty mascot uplit in blue light and an exterior finished with 16 layers of 'ceramic nano particles'.

At the Geneva Motor Show Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said, "The alternative drive-train we choose must deliver an authentic Rolls-Royce experience. It must be a technology that is right for our customers, our brand and which sets us on a sound footing for a sustainable future. That is why this project is so important.”

Time will tell whether Rolls-Royce customers see this is a viable alternative to their traditional, petrol-engined motor cars and whether Rolls-Royce will put this car into production.

Bentley Breaks Ice Speed Record

Finnish rally champion Juha Kankkunen has smashed his own world speed record for driving on ice...in a Bentley Continental GTC. Over two runs he averaged a massive 205mph - without even using studded tyres!

A special edition 'extreme' Bentley is being commissioned to mark the event and is being described as "the most powerful model ever to bear the famed Winged B emblem". Only 100 units will be produced.

The car is making its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
